The company began during a challenging time in Christopher’s life, after being diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer. Unable to meet the physical demands of his skilled trade as a heavy diesel truck and coach mechanic, he chose a new path that allowed him to keep working, building, and supporting his community.

The business started small, with a stump grinder and trailer, and grew through hard work, strong relationships, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Along the way, Christopher partnered with James, an experienced arborist with over 20 years in the tree care industry, whose knowledge and leadership have become a key part of the company’s success. With support from James and longtime friend Kyle, Kleen Slate expanded beyond stump grinding into full-service tree care, building a skilled and reliable team.

Since those early days, our company has grown into a hard-working, goal-focused crew that takes pride in quality and refuses to cut corners. Small-town kindness, approachability, and genuine care are at the core of how we work, whether we’re on a residential property or a larger commercial site. Our goal is to grow responsibly, create good local jobs, and build a trusted customer base of people who know they will be looked after every step of the way.
